Then testimonials by people who have used different drive systems will be given. Followed by show-and-tell of EVs and rides. Saturday, August 15, 2009, 10 AM to Noon: EV Batteries and Management Systems An overview of safe, high power, deep cycle, long life, durable batteries and their management systems required to power EV drive systems will be presented. Then testimonials by people who have used different EV batteries will be given. Followed by show-and-tell of EVs and rides. Saturday, September 12, 2009, 10 AM to Noon: EV Charging Systems An overview of safe, high power, high efficiency durable traction and accessory battery chargers required to charge EV batteries will be presented. Then testimonials by people who have used different EV charging systems will be given. Followed by show-and-tell of EVs and rides. Saturday, October 17, 2009, 10 AM to Noon: EV Donor Vehicles An overview of efficient donor vehicles with enough payload to carry EV components, and ways to safely and securely mount the EV components inside of them will be presented. Then testimonials by people who have converted different types of EVs in different ways will be given. Followed by show-and-tell of EVs and rides. EV RACE JULY 19 AT LAGUNA SECA ------------------------------ Note: local Blue Sky Center businesses will be participating in this event. RE+FUEL 09: ALTERNATIVE ENERGY AND CLEAN POWER TRACK DAY Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Monterey, CA On July 19, 2009, in conjunction with the County of Monterey, Speed Ventures will present RE+FUEL, a first-ever open track day for Alternative-Power Vehicles. Owners of the new breed of production and experimental electric and alternative-power cars and motorcycles will take the track in open sessions and time trials. Experimental vehicle start-ups, suppliers and non-profits will get time on track for demonstration and testing laps. Manufacturers of electric and high-efficiency vehicles will be provided prime paddock space for display and access to the track for demonstrations, test-drives and customer ride-alongs. HIGH-EFFICIENCY VEHICLE DAY ON A WORLD-CLASS TRACK RE+FUEL has been conceived as an opportunity for the owners, developers and manufacturers of alternative vehicles to convene and showcase cutting-edge advances in efficient motor vehicle design and technology for clean power advocates, the motorsports community, the automotive industry, gearhead enthusiasts and the public at large.
